Dear Members of the NZ Society in Hong Kong,
It was wonderful to see so many of you at our farewell dinner on Sunday. A huge ‘thank you’ to Travis, Kelly and the committee for organizing it, a very special ‘kia ora’ to Tammy and Chris for bringing the lumps to our throats, and a big ‘thank you’ to you all for supporting it and making it such a memorable evening.
I’m sorry we didn’t open the gift in front of you all. It is a beautiful photo of our fabulous view, screen printed onto a stretched canvas. It will be amazing to know that wherever we are, we will always have our 180 degree view of Hong Kong !! We’re glad that we’ve been able to share the view with so many of you.
Thank you to all the willing helpers who have helped us entertain ‘Kiwi style’; ie. in a casual, friendly and cost effective manner. Without our barmen, waitresses and BBQers, we would never have been able to have so many NZ Society functions up here.
There are, of course, many things we’ll miss about Hong Kong, but we’re excited about returning home to the stars, the fresh air, family and friends.
We sincerely hope to meet up with any of you if you come through (or to!) Wellington.
