This event is in the past.
Following the recent failed attempts by the NZ Consulate and other frugal regimes at dividing and disassembling the NZ Society and other historic symbols of Kiwis in HK & China, the NZ Socety committee (100% comprised of Chinese reading/writing/speaking NZers, irrespective of their particular background) decided to send a study group to Charlotesville over the summer to gain insight into monuments, civil war and history.
For the record, the NZ Society of HK committee states "on many, many sides" on behalf of the Kiwis in this city:
- "No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion."
- "As we pray for Charlottesville, we are reminded of the fundamental truths recorded by that city’s most prominent citizen in the Declaration of Independence: we are all created equal and endowed by our Creator with unalienable rights."
UNLESS they are Australian and the Bledisloe Cup is on, in which case ... DAMN RIGHT!
See you at the Doghouse tomorrow evening!
